Aston Villa are ready to battle it out with Liverpool for the services of Uruguayan forward Joaquin Boghossian in the summer.
The January transfer window has only just closed but that has not stopped speculation linking players with a summer move and reports claim Martin O'Neill is keen on the 22-year-old striker.
The player is owned by C.A Cerro in his homeland but is currently enjoying a loan spell with Argentinean outfit Newell's Old Boys, where he is catching the eye of watching scouts.
O'Neill is said to be keeping tabs on him while Premiership rivals Liverpool have also been mentioned as possible suitors when the window re-opens in July.
