Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert is understood to be considering a move for former Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner, who is a free agent.
It has been claimed by some reports that Villa are already in "advanced talks" with Bendtner as Lambert seeks to bolster his options in attack.
Bendtner is currently weighing up his options after being released by Arsenal at the end of last season and it is understood that he has been offered a three-year deal by German outfit Eintracht Frankfurt.
However, the Danish striker is believed to be keen to remain in the Premier League and Villa are hopeful a deal can be reached with the 26-year-old.
Villa owner Randy Lerner is seeking to sell the club and as such Lambert has a limited budget available for transfers at present.
The Villa boss has already brought in Joe Cole and Philippe Senderos on free transfers this summer and Bendtner could be the next player to arrive at Villa Park without a fee being paid according to reports.
