Barry Bannan has been called up to the Scotland squad for the World Cup qualification double-header against Wales and Serbia.
Gordon Strachan has called Bannan into his squad after West Brom midfielder James Morrison became the fourth player to withdraw from the party because of injury.
James Forrest, Ross McCormack and Danny Fox had already been forced out of the squad with knocks, leaving Strachan short of depth.
Bannan could now go straight into contention for a starting slot against Wales at Hampden Park on Friday evening.
The Villa midfielder, who has 11 international caps, last played for Scotland in the 5-1 defeat to USA at the end of last season. He has played 29 times for his club this season.
