England international Darren Bent is one of three over-age Aston Villa players being considered by Great Britain for the Olympics.

Coach Stuart Pearce has written to Bent along with Scotland full-back Alan Hutton and Welsh centre-back James Collins to tell them that they are all under consideration for this summer's tournament.

Bent would only be involved if he isn't selected by the new England manager for the Euro 2012 finals, but both Hutton and Collins would be available to play as neither of their countries have qualified for the competition in Poland and the Ukraine.

Also in Pearce's thoughts are Villa youngsters Barry Bannan, Nathan Delfouneso, Gary Gardner and Nathan Baker as the former Nottingham Forest full-back looks to put together his 18-man squad which will consist of 15 under-23 players and three over-age stars.
