Villa wait on Baggies ace future decision

A VillaEverton and Aston Villa are waiting to pounce after the agent of Zoltan Gera confirmed he is set to decide on his future at West Brom.

The Hungarian international is thought to be attracting the attentions of around five clubs with the Toffees and Villa named, while West Brom are keen to keep the midfielder at the Hawthorns following their promotion to the Premier League as Championship title winners.

Portuguese giants Benfica have also expressed an interest in Gera, who will be out of contact with the Baggies next month and therefore available to leave on a Bosman free transfer.

Gera's agent Sam Stapleton has revealed the player will decide whether to sign a new contract at West Brom or leave for pastures new at the start of next week. If Gera does decide to go it will spark an almighty scramble for his signature.

"I think by early next week we should know something," said Stapleton.

"It's still wide open at the moment, but we're hoping to narrow it down in the next couple of days with a view to making a decision early next week."
