Aston Villa captain Ron Vlaar has spoken of his admiration for the attitude of team-mate Jores Okore in his recovery from injury.

Midfielder Okore suffered cruciate ligament damage in Villa's home loss to Newcastle in the Barclays Premier League two months ago.

Vlaar told the club's website: "It's unbelievable what happened to Jores. It's really frustrating.

"But he's doing great. He is in every day, he works hard and he always has a smile on his face. That's good to see.

"It's not easy for him because I had the same injury too.

"He will come back stronger, though, of that I have no doubt. I am sure of it.

"He is giving it everything. Now we have to remain patient for his return."
