Winger rules out Villa exit

A VillaAshley Young has pledged his future to Aston Villa and says he is ready to pen a long-term deal with the club.

Young has been a revelation for Villa this season and boss Martin O'Neill has already revealed he would like to get the winger tied down to a new improved deal this season.

One or two clubs have been alerted to Young's form but the player says he is happy and can achieve everything he wants to at Villa Park.

"Am I happy to commit myself to Villa? Definitely," Young revealed. "I am an ambitious person and I can achieve what I want to at Villa. I have a lot things I want to do in my career, Villa will help me do that.

"I wouldn't have come here if I didn't think I could make myself a better player. The coaches have brought my game on leaps and bounds. The next thing is to break into that top four. The club came to me and it is flattering.

"I am delighted the gaffer wants to offer me a new deal and that I am in talks about a new contract. Talks are ongoing and progressing well.''
