Barnet have been given permission to relocate to Edgware by the Football League.

The npower League Two strugglers are hoping to move to their new home - The Hive - in time for the start of next season after plans to extend the tenure of their existing Underhill home failed to come to fruition.

Club chairman Tony Kleanthous told his club's official website: "We waited until the last possible minute before applying to the League as I was not prepared to take this action until we had exhausted all avenues with Barnet Council.

"There can be no better statement of our intent and with the new facilities at The Hive and extra investment in the squad we are looking forward to the future."
