Beattie goes head-to-head with Davids

James Beattie is relishing the chance to lock horns with Edgar Davids again on Friday night.

Former Everton striker Beattie came up against Davids in the Premier League while the Dutch legend was at Tottenham.

The stage is slightly less glamorous these days with Beattie now player-coach at Accrington and Davids holding a similar role at Barnet.

But the two former internationals will be opponents once again when the teams meet at Underhill in League Two.

"We played a couple of times, when I was at Everton and he was at Spurs, in the 05/06 season," Beattie told Sky Sports News.

"Hopefully we can renew those acquaintances and get it on on Friday night."
