Barnsley boss David Flitcroft heralded the importance of his side's 2-0 win against Hull at Oakwell.
The hosts claimed the spoils thanks to goals from Jacob Mellis and Chris O'Grady - a result which means the Tykes' fate will now be determined next Saturday when they visit Huddersfield.
Victory will guarantee their safety and Flitcroft admitted he cannot wait for the fixture following this win.
He said: "It's massive. If we turn up with that energy we're going to be a match for anyone in this division and that's what we've certainly showed since I took the job."
Barnsley looked doomed after a 6-0 thrashing at the hands of Charlton at Oakwell earlier this month but Flitcroft's men have since enjoyed a much-needed turnaround in fortunes.
Flitcroft added: "In a lot of people's minds the season was over against Charlton.
"Here, the quality was on show and the courage, the bravery they've displayed."
