Owner in ambition rant

BarnsleyBarnsley owner Patrick Cryne has admitted his club is seen as a 'no go' area for managers but insists the Tykes do not lack ambition.

The Tykes currently find themselves occupying the third relegation place in the Championship and while Cryne concedes the Tykes lack funding, he claims there is no such lack of ambition.

He told the Barnsley Chronicle: "One of the main prejudices against Barnsley is that we have run a reign of terror for managers for more than a decade, and most believe that they will not be given any time to get things right before the tumbril rolls to the guillotine again.

"I know that our club does not lack ambition. It does lack heavy doses of parachute money, billionaire chic to attract passing Arabs, Americans or Russians and a local population the size of a city, but certainly not ambition."
