Tykes seal Prem signing coup

BarnsleyBarnsley have signed former Holland Under-21 international Maceo Rigters on a season-long loan deal from Blackburn.

The 24-year-old joined Rovers in last summer's transfer window but struggled to establish himself in the first team, making just five appearances last season.

Former NAC Breda star Rigters spent a spell on loan with Norwch City last season and Paul Ince has allowed him to head to Oakwell to gain some first-team action.

The forward will go straight into Barnsley squad for the opening game at QPR and will be seen as the ideal replacement for Jamal Campbell-Ryce, who is facing a spell on the sidelines after dislocating his elbow.
