Laurent Blanc is reportedly being lined up as a possible future replacement for Birmingham manager Alex McLeish.

Owner Carson Yeung is believed to be unsure about McLeish's long-term ability to lead the club and is now looking around for alternatives with the Bordeaux boss thought to be high on his hitlist.

Yeung is putting feelers out despite yesterday's 1-0 win over Fulham and credible draws against Man City and Liverpool.

He wants to be sure his £40m cash kitty for transfers is spent wisely and would be very tempted to bring in Blanc if he became available.

The Frenchman won the league title with Bordeaux last season and have reached the knockout stages of the Champions League.
