Blues cool on transfer talk

Birmingham manager Alex McLeish is on the look out for new players but remains coy on rumours linking him with Ben Watson.

McLeish is still looking to bolster his ranks and is known to be in the hunt for Watson, who has turned down the chance of a new deal with Crystal Palace.

The Blues boss admits he is trying to sign new players but refused to be drawn on the rumours linking him with Watson.

"Yeah I am looking to do something before the start of the season and I am still working on one or two things and we hope to make an announcement to the Birmingham fans as soon as possible," McLeish told Sky Sports News.

"There is a few names, I don't want to say yes or say no to any name.

"I think the policy we use at the club is until the i's are dotted and the t's are crossed then that is when we will tell you if we were interested in a certain player, but we are looking at one or two current situations."
