Blues go for Agustien

BirminghamBirmingham City have opened talks with AZ Alkmaar over a potential loan deal for 21-year-old midfielder Kemy Agustien.

The 21-year-old struggled to gain a place in the AZ Alkmaar starting 11 last season and it is though the Dutch side would be happy to let him go out on loan for some first team experience.

A number of Championship clubs are said to be interested in the highly rated midfielder but it is thought Birmingham boss Alex McLeish is leading the race to sign the youngster.

Birmingham have been left short in midfield following Fabrice Muambas £5million move to Bolton Wanderers and Oliver Kapo moving to Wigan to link up with former boss Steve Bruce.

Agustien is regarded as a hot prospect in Holland and it is thought that he is keen on a move to England.
