Blues tipped for double striker raid

BirminghamBirmingham are believed to be lining up a move for Reading striker Dave Kitson, while West Brom's Kevin Phillips could also join Blues.

Alex McLeish is said to be an admirer of Royals target man Kitson, who is likely to cost in the region of £3million if Reading decide to sell the former Cambridge frontman.

Birmingham could fund any move for Kitson with the sale of Olivier Kapo, who looks set to leave St Andrews having miss the start of pre-season training.

Meanwhile, veteran striker Phillips looks poised for a cross-Midlands move after West Brom boss Tony Mowbray revealed he expects Phillips to move on this summer.

Contract talks appear to have stalled between the Baggies and Phillips, with Mowbray revealing: "At this moment, it is unlikely that Kevin will stay here. If there is a stumbling block that we cannot overcome then so be it."
