Boss backing from Taylor

Birmingham keeper Maik Taylor is backing boss Alex McLeish to give Blues the best chance of promotion back to the Premier League.

The St Andrews outfit are bidding to bounce straight back and Taylor has complete faith in his manager's ability to deal with the loss of players like Mikael Forssell and Fabrice Muamba.

"We're going into an extremely difficult division but we will definitely be up for the challenge and I'm sure we won't be far away," Taylor told the club's website.

"I think the manager will put together a very good squad. We have lost a couple of players, which happens, but we still have quality and I'm sure he will do things here and there to improve us."

Taylor this week signed a new two-year deal.
