Boss ponders midfield moves

BirminghamAlex McLeish is in for Irish midfielder Keith Fahey and wants to extend Nigel Quashie's stay at St Andrew's.

The Scotland international midfielder has made four appearances on loan and has made a good impression, despite his sending off against Charlton last Saturday which rules him out of tonight's game at Swansea.

McLeish told the club's official website: "We're looking at another month again. Nigel made a good contribution last weekend apart from his sending off, which was a wee bit unlucky."

Fahey, 25 is another player who the manager has been impressed by and he looks set to make a move in the January transfer window.

McLeish told the club's official website : "We've made a few enquiries about him now. At this stage I don't like to say how optimistic or pessimistic I am.

"When I have got something to say, I will let you know. He's had a good season for St Pat's and he looks a decent player."
