Defender eyes permanent move

BirminghamBolton defender Nick Hunt says he wants to play regular first-team football and has opened the door to a permanent move to Birmingham.

Hunt has been frozen out of the Wanderers first team this season and Blues boss Alex McLeish has offered him the chance to get some regular action under his belt at St Andrews.

The defender jumped at the move and says he could sign on a permanent basis in January.

"The game was incredibly important because I've not played competitively since last season," Hunt revealed. "Reserve games are not really very good, you need to be out there and playing properly.

"I'm here for a month and I want to play as many games as I can this season so we'll have to see what the club says."

Meanwhile, Hunt is tipping Birmingham to go up and by the way he is talking already feels like a Blues player.

"From what I've seen and experienced, the gaffer knows what he wants and the players play for him. I'm sure we'll be promoted," the defender revealed.
