Euro 2008 star linked

Birmingham are being linked with a summer swoop for Austria midfielder Jurgen Samuel when Euro 2008 comes to an end.

The 23-year-old is said to be one of a couple of Austrians on show at the Euro finals who boss Simon Davey is said to be taking a keen interest in.

As ever, though, he is not alone as newly-promoted Hull, as well as Plymouth and Barnsley, are also said to be interested in the Sturm Graz skipper.

Keeper Maik Taylor has signed a new deal at the club as expected to take him through to 2010.

Blues will face entertain Sheffield United on the first day of the Championship season on August 9.
