Birmingham defenders Mitch Hancox and Jack Deaman have extended their contracts with the club until the end of the season.

The teenage pair, both regulars in Blues' development squad, have impressed manager Lee Clark since his arrival at the club over the summer and have now been rewarded with six-month extensions.

Solihull-born Hancox, 18, made his first senior start during Saturday's fixture against Huddersfield having progressed through Blues' Academy ranks from the age of eight.

He told Birmingham's official website: "I'm happy to have signed my contract extension and now have that security until the end of the season.

"It's just about cracking on now and hopefully earning myself another contract beyond this season."

Deaman, 19, signed for Blues in August 2011 having previously been at Wrexham. He also signed his first professional contract last May and played a major part in the club's pre-season preparations domestically and over in Austria.
