Hammer blow to striker hopes

BirminghamWest Ham's Bobby Zamora is on the verge of disappointing Fulham and Birmingham by signing for Queens Park Rangers.

The 27-year-old will reportedly join Rangers on an initial one-year loan with the wealthy west London club splitting his £15,000-a-week wages with the Hammers next term.

Fulham and Birmingham have been chasing the ex-Brighton and Hove Albion striker, but he is said to be favouring a move to the ambitious Championship outfit backed by the billionaire Indian industrialist Lakshmi Mittal.
