Injury blow for Dutch ace

BirminghamBirmingham have revealed new loan signing Kemy Agustien will miss the opening game of the season with a hernia problem.

The Dutch midfielder completed his season-long loan switch earlier in the week but Blues boss Alex McLeish has now revealed that the player is not fully fit.

The problem is nothing serious but it looks like being a few weeks before he can play.

"He had his operation almost two weeks ago," he told the club's website. "He was swiftly dealt with when we discovered the hernia and he saw a top surgeon.

"He's a little bit tender in that area and there's only so far we can push him at the moment but he's a fit lad naturally - a typical foreign player who looks after himself.

"We hope he'll be available in the middle of August, but I hate to pinpoint a precise date. We must concentrate on getting him back to full fitness so there's no chance of a recurrence."
