Jerome committed to cause

BirminghamCameron Jerome has spoken of his desire to stay and help Birmingham bounce straight back to the Premier League.

The £3million former Cardiff forward, who ended up Blues' second top-scorer with seven goals in their relegation campaign, was overlooked by manager Alex McLeish towards the end of last season.

Reports had suggested he could be one of a number of players offloaded this summer but Jerome has said he is not looking to leave and is keen to spearhead a Blues revival.

"Definitely, I am contracted to the club and I was relatively happy here until I wasn't playing," he told the Birmingham Mail.

"That's the same as it would be for anyone. Obviously you are going to be upset if you are not getting picked.

"It's not nice not to be playing. But that's down to other people's good form and the manager's decision so you've just got to suck it up and get on with it.

"I think I've done that. I've not complained one bit since I've been at the club. I have just got on with it. The manager has to make decisions and he lives or dies by them."
