Johnson back to boost Blues

BirminghamBirmingham have been boosted by the news Damien Johnson is back in training following a lengthy spell out with his back.

The Blues skipper underwent surgery in the summer and has not made a single appearance for the club this season as they have gone easy with his rehabilitation work.

However, Johnson is now back in training much to the relief of boss Alex McLeish who is delighted to have him back.

"Damien Johnson has started training with the lads for the first time in four or five months," McLeish told the club's official website. "It's magnificent to see him out there again. His enthusiasm is superb and I hope that rubs off on everybody else in training.

"He's been a big influence during his time at the club."
