Kapo in demand

BirminghamWigan and Everton are being linked with a raid on relegated Birmingham for midfielder Olivier Kapo but Blues do not have to sell.

The St Andrews outfit are braced for a busy summer as former Premier League rivals try and tempt their crown jewels away.

However, chairman David Gold has already pledged to keep much of the relegated squad together.

He told the Post: "We have received bids for Kapo but we don't need to sell him, and if we do we will replace him like for like.

"We have a £25million black hole following relegation, and we have to bear that in mind.

"The team that got us relegated is a squad that, in my opinion, is capable of getting us straight back up."
