McLeish reveals special K plan

BirminghamNew signing Kemy Agustien has been brought in by Birmingham boss Alex Mcleish with a view to him playing in central midfield.

The Blues boss believes the Dutch under-21 international, who has joined from AZ Alkmaar on a season's long loan with a view to a permanent £1.575 million transfer, could bring a new dimension to the side in that crucial area.

Agustien, who is recovering from a routine hernia operation and is not expected to be full fit for around two weeks, also has good versatility according to the boss.

"Kemy is quite a dynamic player, with good mobility, and he's quite versatile," McLeish said.

"He's played on the flanks with Alkmaar, is very knowledgeable on the 4-4-2 role and tactically astute.

"He can play on the right or left or, more crucially for us, play in the centre, which is where we are short.

"We have quite similar types in there with Mehdi Nafti, Damien Johnson and Lee Carsley, whereas Agustien is more box to box. So it's great to have a different type."
