Birmingham boss Alex McLeish has eased his injury problems by signing Bolton defender Nicky Hunt on a month's loan.

Hunt has yet to make an appearance for the Trotters this season as Gretar Steinsson has dominated the right-back spot, and Bolton boss Gary Megson is happy for him to go out and get some first-team action under his belt.

McLeish has been desperate for a right-back after Stephen Kelly and Stuart Parnaby picked up injuries and Hunt will go straight into the squad for tonight's clash with Coventry.

Birmingham have also been linked with a move for Trotters defender Danny Shittu, but Megson is short in central defence and is unlikely to sell in January unless he drafts in a replacement first.
