Blackburn boss Sam Allardyce says he is hopeful of keeping Morten Gamst Pedersen at the club despite interest from Celtic.
The Norwegian ace is due to fall out of contract in the summer and there have been suggestions he could be allowed to leave as he does not feature in the long-term plans of Allardyce.
Celtic have been strongly linked with a move for the winger but Allardyce insists he still has a future at Ewood Park and hopes to get him tied down to a new deal.
"We all know he is out of contract this year, so we will have to see what we can do about that," Allardyce revealed. "There's no reason for us to do anything with him at this stage, not unless somebody suddenly pops up from abroad to give him a pre-contract.
"If that was the case then we would have heard about that, so we'll obviously try and continue to talk to him regarding a new contract."
