Blackburn are showing an interest in Rennes winger Olivier Thomert, while Michel Salgado could arrive on trial.
Rovers boss Sam Allardyce is stepping up his search for new players ahead of the transfer window closing and according to reports he is keen on Thomert, who is looking to leave France this summer.
The 29-year-old has fallen out-of-favour with Rennes coach Frederic Antonetti and Allardyce could offer him the chance of a move to Ewood Park, although Wigan and Birmingham are also keen.
Meanwhile, it looks as though Allardyce could offer Real Madrid legend Salgado a trial at Ewood Park before deciding whether or not offer the 33-year-old a contract.
Salgado is a free agent after leaving Madrid at the end of last season but Allardyce is not sure whether he has the fitness for the Premiership and is keen to get a good look at him first.
