Blackburn boss Sam Allardyce says it will not be too long before new signing Yildiray Basturk is ready to make his debut.

The Turkish ace is still lacking match fitness after arriving from German outfit Stuttgart but after he got his first week of training under his belt, Allardyce has been impressed with what he has seen.

The Rovers boss is reluctant to throw him into the action until he is up to speed and it could be another couple of weeks before he is ready to make his first appearance.

"He's coming on fine. He's looking good with the lads," Allardyce revealed. "Obviously we can see all the ability that he has got, so it is all about keeping him going from a fitness point of view and introducing him when we see fit."
