Blackburn caretaker manager Gary Bowyer felt his side performed well after a 1-1 home draw all-but secured their npower Championship safety.
Jordan Rhodes' deft flick brought him his 28th league goal of the season and earned Rovers a point after Stephen Dobbie had put the visitors ahead.
Bowyer had one note of criticism reserved for referee Phil Gibbs who he felt denied the hosts a "stonewall" penalty when Josh Morris appeared to be fouled by Kagisho Dikgacoi early in the second half.
He said: "It's a good point against very good side. We're delighted with a point but maybe we could have got three.
"They're an attacking team and play a passing game but I thought we matched it at times and played some good stuff ourselves. With a little bit more care in the attacking third, we might just have won it.
"We had a great shout for a penalty when Morris got brought down. It was a stonewaller for me but we've shown against a good team how close this championship is."
