Scott Dann believes he is over the worse of his injury problems and is now focused on helping Blackburn beat the drop.

The 24-year-old centre-half has had a torrid time at Ewood Park since his £7.7million switch from Birmingham City during the summer, picking up a calf injury shortly after his move.

After bouncing back from one injury Dann then spent another period of time on the sidelines with a ruptured testicle, picking up the unusual problem while scoring his first goal for Rovers against West Brom in December.

Dann is now back to full fitness and has featured in the last four matches for Blackburn, taking up the role of defensive organiser after Chris Samba decided he wasn't going to play for the club again.

Having climbed out of the bottom three with a win over QPR last time out Dann is hopeful of playing a big part in making sure Blackburn retain their Premier League status.

"A few unfortunate injuries means it's taking me longer to get back up to my level," Dann told the Lancashire Telegraph.

"The injury [in December] was frustrating as I wanted to be playing every week and helping keep the team up.

"We've been down at the bottom but we honestly think we have the players to stay up."
