Benni McCarthy says he is the best striker at Blackburn but will have to move on because boss Sam Allardyce does not agree.
McCarthy cannot get a game at Rovers as Allardyce has opted to play a targetman up top with David Dunn in just behind and the player admits he will have to move on.
"In my opinion I am better than what we have at Rovers, but unfortunately the manager prefers a different style of player," McCarthy told the BBC.
"I am not the type of player he wants and that is why I am not playing."
Portsmouth have been strongly linked and the South African is not ruling out a move to Fratton Park.
"Portsmouth are going through a bad patch but are still a top side," he added. "I have discussed them with Aaron Mokoena and at this stage it is still a rumour.
"There are other clubs in England and Europe that have shown interest in me."
