Ince reveals striker boost

BlackburnBlackburn striker Roque Santa Cruz will be fit for the start of the season despite taking a knock to his Achilles at Wolves.

The Paraguay ace was substituted during the 4-2 Molineux defeat after being caught on the ankle but Rovers' medical staff only expect him to miss four days of training at most.

Ewood Park boss Paul Ince told the club's website: "Roque is okay. There was a bit of a scare when he went down and my heart was in my mouth.

"But he got a whack on his Achilles when he scored the second goal and it is going to be three or four days according to what Dave Fevre has said to me.

"Obviously with the boots these days you are never sure if it is a metatarsal or what it was, but I've been told by the physios and the Doc that he is okay."
