Steve Kean has a nearly fully fit squad to choose from for the clash with Sunderland after David Dunn was given the all clear.
The Rovers midfielder has recently been struggling with an Achilles problem but did come off the bench in the 2-0 win over Wolves and is now pushing for an inclusion in Kean's XI.
The only injury absentee for Rovers is Vince Grella so Kean could stick with the same team that won so comfortably at Wolves last time out.
As for Sunderland, manager Martin O'Neill is already without Kieran Richardson who has a calf problem and will not play, while Phil Bardsley faces a fitness test.
Striker Stephane Sessegnon and Lee Cattermole are both out suspended, Sessegnon will be back against QPR and Cattermole will be available for the cup replay with Everton next week.
Defenders Wes Brown (knee) and Titus Bramble (Achilles/calf) all remain on the sidelines.
