Blackburn fans can breathe easier following the news that Jordan Rhodes could be fit to face Reading in eight days after initial fears of a long-term absence.

The 23-year-old withdrew from the Scotland squad earlier in the week amid reports of a serious ankle injury which could have put him out of action for months.

However, the club's record-signing, who has struck 37 times in 58 games since moving to Ewood Park from Huddersfield, has undergone a scan with the subsequent results bringing positive news for Rovers supporters.
