Blackburn have reportedly secured a work permit for Junior Hoilett after a landmark ruling by a special appeals committee.

Rovers swooped for the 19-year-old striker last summer, but failed to secure a work permit at the time so loaned him out to German side St Pauli last season.

And while the chances of Hoilett being handed a work permit this summer remained slim due to the fact he has not won a cap for the Canadian national team, Rovers made a special appeal.

However, a tabloid report is claiming the first appeal of this kind has been successful and boss Sam Allardyce will be able to use Hoilett in his first-team plans in the new Premier League campaign.
