Manchester City have completed the signing of Blackburn's Faroe Islands international goalkeeper Gunnar Nielsen on a free transfer.
The 22-year-old had joined Blackburn Rovers whilst Mark Hughes was in charge at the club and the shot stopper will now link up with Hughes for the second time since becoming a professional.
An Under-21 international for the Faroe Islands, Nielsen spent part of 2008 on loan at Scottish club Motherwell, but now completes his move to Eastlands, signing a two-and-a-half-year contract and becoming the fourth goalkeeper on Manchester City's books.
"This is a really big club, and it's nice to come here knowing people. I know what they expect from me, and they will know what to expect from me. I am really excited because I know that they believe in me, so I will work hard for them," said Nielsen.
