Blackburn have joined Stoke and Birmingham in tracking Ivory Coast striker Aruna Dindane who has been on loan at Portsmouth.

Dindane's involvement at the African Cup of Nations came to an end last weekend but his parent club, the French outfit Lens, will not allow him to resume his season-long stay at Fratton Park because of alleged missed payments.

However, Lens apparently cannot afford to recall him as they have already budgeted for him to be off their books for the campaign which leaves the £4m-rated forward without a club.

The Potters, Blues and Rovers are all being credited with an interest in the 29-year-old which would appeal to him as he looks to stay in the Elephants' World Cup plans.
