The agent of defender Christopher Samba insists the player is happy at Blackburn and is not looking to leave the club this summer.

The 24-year-old Congo international central defender was signed by former Rovers boss Mark Hughes from Hertha Berlin 18 months ago and is being linked with a move to link up with the Welsh tactician at his new club Manchester City in a £4million deal.

However Samba's agent Leon Lambert has now confirmed that the player is happy to see out the rest of his lengthy contract at Blackburn and stay put under new boss Paul Ince.

"Chris has a five-year deal and he is very happy," Lambert told the Daily Star Sunday.

"There have been some rumours, but at this moment I expect him to start the season there."
