Blackburn Rovers are thought to have made an offer for Valencia star Joaquin although teammate Alexis says he is happy in Spain.
Rovers boss Paul Ince is scouring the market for a replacement for the recently departed David Bentley and is thought to have targeted the winger, with reports in Spain claiming the club have lodged a bid in the region of £9.5million.
Valencia's vice-president Fernando Gomez is now set to meet the 27-year-old's agent today to discuss the offer from the Lancashire outfit.
However, Joaquin's team-mate Alexis says the former Real Betis star is happy at the Mestalla and is hopeful that he will be staying put.
"In the dressing room he is always the same - cheerful," said Alexis in AS. "I do not think we have any problems.
"He does not want to go, he is very happy in Valencia and I would not want him to leave because to have a person like him in the dressing room is a joy.
"I get along very well with him."
