David Bentley is reported to have demanded a move to Tottenham after Blackburn said he can go at the right price.

Rovers have always insisted that the England international is not for sale but now for the first time they have hinted that a deal could be struck if an interested party match their valuation.

Blackburn have already rejected two bids, one from Aston Villa and the other thought to be from Spurs, as they hold out for a fee of £17million. Villa are now out of the running and Tottenham are favourites to wrap up a deal if they increase their bid.

"We don't want to lose David but if we do get a bid that meets our valuation then ultimately it comes down to a football decision from the manager Paul Ince," Rovers chairman John Williams revealed.

"We have received two bids but neither has come anywhere close to our valuation, which is based in line with how we see the market."

Bentley is thought to have pulled out of Blackburn's pre-season training camp in Germany after telling Ince he wants to complete a move to White Hart Lane.
