Rovers reject defender bid

Blackburn have told West Ham to forget about making a move for Zurab Khizanishvili as the defender is not for sale.

Khizanishvili has struggled for first-team action at Ewood Park this season and reports had claimed that the Hammers were lining up a £750,000 January swoop.

Hammers boss Gianfranco Zola wants to add a new defender to his ranks but Khizanishvili will not be making the switch to Upton Park after Rovers boss Paul Ince insisted the defender is in his plans for the future.

The Georgian has been described as a "valuable member" of the Rovers squad so West Ham will have to look elsewhere unless they make an offer Ince cannot refuse.
