Manchester City are being linked with Brad Friedel but Blackburn officials say the goalkeeper is not for sale.

Rovers have had to put up with constant speculation this summer as David Bentley and Roque Santa Cruz have been linked with a move away, while Chris Samba has also been linked with City.

Now Friedel is said to be a target of former Rovers boss Mark Hughes as he looks for more experience to battle for the number one jersey with current number one Joe Hart.

However, once again chairman John Williams says new boss Paul Ince is under no pressure to sell.

"What we want to do is support our manager in keeping his best players," Williams reiterated when quizzed about the link.
