Midfielder David Dunn has opened contract talks in a bid to secure his long-term future at Blackburn, according to reports.

The former Birmingham and England star has been in outstanding form for Rovers this season scoring six goals in 11 starts but is out of contract next summer.

But reports in the Lancashire Telegraph on Friday suggest that Dunn has held preliminary negotiations with Rovers officials about extending his stay at Ewood Park and further talks are planned in the near future.

The midfielder is one of a number of players out of contract at the end of the season with Morten Gamst Pedersen and Steven Reid also waiting to discover if they will be offered new deals.
