Defender Christopher Samba says Blackburn need to start getting mentally tough in order to reverse their poor run of home form.
The Congolese international was left fuming after Rovers surrendered the first half lead he handed them on Saturday as Sunderland came out to score twice in the second period and take the maximum points from Ewood Park.
The result means Paul Ince's side have taken just five points from a possible 21 so far this term - the club's worst start at home for over 30 years - as they sit in the relegation places. And Samba has called on his team-mates to start getting it into their heads that they must kill teams off when they are on top and perform for 90 minutes as opposed to just parts of matches.
He told the Lancashire Telegraph: "We have so much quality in the squad, we showed that at Sunderland on Wednesday but on Saturday we only performed for 45 minutes.
"It's not just about having the ability, some of us need to gain the mental quality you need to win matches at this level.
"We need to be able to see games through.
"We look like we are playing better away from home. It's hard to say what's going wrong when we play at home.
"You just can't expect to come out for the second half and play like that. Some of us have to realise the game is 90 minutes."
