Danny Simpson says he hopes to do enough during his time at Blackburn to convince Sir Alex Ferguson he has what it takes to succeed.
Simpson is enjoying his time at Blackburn after arriving from Manchester United on a season-long loan deal but it looks as though a permanent move is not in the player's thoughts for now.
The 21-year-old wants to prove to Ferguson that he can cut the mustard in the Premiership and believes Blackburn is the ideal stage to show him.
"You need experience," Simpson told Sky Sports. "You need Sir Alex Ferguson to trust you that you can cut it in the Prem. For me, at the moment, I want to get as many games as I can.
"Obviously I will go back next season and then have a meeting and see what he says."
Ferguson has insisted the player is still in his plans for now and that is music to the ears of Simpson, who wants to stay and fight for his future at Old Trafford.
"Obviously, it's what everyone wants to hear that I'm still in his plans and while I'm not there it's nice to hear," the defender added.
