Blackburn are still waiting to see if Robbie Fowler will accept an offer, while reported target Vince Grella wants a move to England.
Rovers boss Paul Ince handed a trial to 33-year-old former Liverpool and Manchester City striker, Fowler, after he left Cardiff at the end of last season. And, after being convinced he could still do a job in the Premier League, Ince offered the player a pay-as-you-play contract at Ewood Park.
However Fowler appears to be dragging his heels over accepting the terms which suggests he could be waiting for a better deal elsewhere.
Meanwhile Italian side Torino's 27-year-old Australia international midfielder, Grella, has admitted that he would welcome a move to the Premier League following reports linking him to Rovers.
Following speculation he was due to meet Ince following his country's friendly international against South Africa at Loftus Road on Tuesday, Grella told Setanta: "At the moment I've only read and heard of these things and up till now there's been nothing official.
"I haven't met him. Nothing's been planned.
"Tomorrow [Wednesday] I should be back in Italy so until I find out any other information I'm a Torino player."
However he added: "Yes, a move to England would interest me.
"I think English football at the moment has taken over, it's improved so much, it's full of world champions and it's something that, having been 10 years in Italy, interests me."
