Blackpool have confirmed Portsmouth boss Michael Appleton as their new manager on a one-year rolling contract.

The 36-year-old replaces Ian Holloway, who left the club to join Championship rivals Crystal Palace last week.

His first game in charge is set to be against Bolton Wanderers at Bloomfield Road on Saturday.
